Rebuilding a Beloved Abilene Landmark

Fort Imagination has been a place where children explore, create, and connect. After a devastating fire destroyed the playground, the Junior League of Abilene stepped forward to help bring it back to life. Together with community partners, local families, and supporters like you, we’re working to rebuild a space where imaginations can soar again.

Our Role in the Project

The Junior League of Abilene is leading a community-driven effort to help fund and support the reconstruction of Fort Imagination. Through fundraising initiatives and volunteer engagement, we are rallying Abilene around a project that directly impacts local children and families.

This initiative aligns with our mission to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and improve our community through effective action and leadership.

A Community Collaboration

This rebuild is a true partnership between the Junior League of Abilene, local supporters, and the City of Abilene. While the City manages the design and construction of the new playground, the Junior League is committed to supporting the project through:

  • Fundraising events and community campaigns

  • Engagement of volunteers to assist in approved build activities

  • Public awareness efforts to keep the community informed and involved

Together, we are creating something meaningful, lasting, and joyful for Abilene families.
