The Suds Buds project helps Abilene children affected by poverty in the Head Start program and selected Title I campuses in Taylor County. Suds Buds provides basic hygiene items for students who otherwise couldn’t afford such items at the beginning of the school year when the need for assistance is especially great. Over 3,500 students and families benefit from our packages each September and each receive toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant soap, deodorant, shampoo, and detergent.
The following are elementary schools that participate in our Suds Buds program:
- Locust Early Childhood Center
- Woodson Early Childhood Center
- Ortiz Elementary School
- Fannin Elementary School
- College Heights Elementary School
- Tye Elementary School
- Reagan Elementary School
- Bowie Elementary School
- Lee Elementary School
- Long Elementary School
Additional supplies will be available for all of the assisted schools whom request extra packets beyond the initial distribution.
